Transforming Cancer Care Through Education

The Velindre Oncology Academy is the first cancer academy in Wales. Dedicated to transforming cancer care through education, the Academy delivers oncology and clinical skills training to staff across the UK, with the aim of advancing our workforce and creating better outcomes for patients.

As a department within the Velindre University NHS Trust, which hosts the Velindre Cancer Service, the Academy delivers training and CPD programmes to health professionals, including webinars, short courses and postgraduate qualifications. Our programmes are delivered in a multitude of methods, including virtual and in person delivery, giving flexibility to the healthcare workforce without compromise on the level of engagement and quality of delivery.

In partnership with University of Wales Trinity Saint David, the Academy will offer incredibly valuable accredited courses which will ultimately improve patient experience and outcomes.

Our Mission

In partnership with patients and expert practitioners, we are shaping the future of cancer care through education, creating a culture of knowledge and skills to deliver excellence.

Our Values

The work of the Academy aligns with the Trust’s values. The values are a mix of continuity and change, reflecting our commitment to delivering and developing our services, and we’re proud to have them in place.
